Third Grade Citizenship: People Making A Difference

The World in Our Backyard is extremely proud of our 45 minute programs developed for third grade students to enhance their study of diverse groups of people by examining their cultures, traditions, and contributions to the world.

Our in-school field trips were developed to support the NC Course of Study competency goals and objectives and to engage students in a creative and energetic way through the use of photographs, artifacts, cultural costumes and traditional music.

The following programs are offered:

Africa,  Australia,  China,  Italy,  Mexico,  Native Americans  and  the Netherlands.

The cost is $5 a student with a minimum charge of $250.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Union, Lincoln, Cabarrus and Stanley County schools have made our programs available to their students using school funds, PTA support, student payments, and/or grant money.
