Second Grade Regional Studies: Local, State, United States and World

The World in Our Backyard is extremely proud of our 45 minute programs developed for second grade students to enhance their study of how communities around the world may be linked by cultural, geographic and economic ties. Students will learn about the diversity and cultural traditions in communities around the world.

Our in-school field trips were developed to support the NC Course of Study competency goals and objectives and to engage students in a creative and energetic way through the use of photographs, artifacts, cultural costumes and traditional music.

The following programs are offered:

Africa,  Australia,  China,  Italy,  Mexico,  Native Americans  and  the Netherlands.

The cost is $5 a student with a minimum charge of $250.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Union, Lincoln, Cabarrus and Stanley County schools have made our programs available to their students using school funds, PTA support, student payments, and/or grant money.
