Cultural Programs: Diverse Cultures around the World
The World in Our Backyard is extremely proud of our 45 minute programs developed for students to enhance their study of families of diverse cultures around the world. Students are introduced to “real life” experiences and what it is like to live, to play, to sing and to dance in the culture being studied. Scale models of past and present housing units are introduced as well as the games, the costumes, the songs, the animals and the jobs that enrich the local communities. To dress in native costumes allows the students to feel a true sense of community and understand how special yet different are these communities from their own.
The following programs are offered:
Africa, Australia, China, Italy, Mexico, Native Americans, Peru and the Netherlands.
The cost is $5 a student with a minimum charge of $250.
